| Girls arrive to support the Cambodia Rugby Federation. |
|
| Three Surrey Gap year girls arrived in Pnom Peng to spend three weeks helping the Cambodian Rugby Federation with coaching the National ladies team and with delivering the Grassroots development programme in the schools. We will be following their trip with interest and wish the Cambodian Rugby Federation all the best for their commitment to make such a difference to so many disadvantaged children in the country. |

In September 2007, Kambujabutra U14 travelled to the UK to take part in the touraid U14 Cup and made many friends and admirers especially from Orleans Park School, their hosts. The children were selected from Aspeca (An NGO taking care of orphans) and PSE (an NGO that takes children from living on the rubbish dumps) and all were fabulous Ambassadors for their country and carers.
Steph and her two friends will be working with these groups and we will keep you fully informed as to their progress.

E-Mail from Steph. First Impressions!
Hi Andy,
Everything is great here! We had our first training with our girls last night - a real eye opener. We have met lots of Philippe’s colleagues, and are going to meet more people from the NGO where they train. It is all in the build up to test match vs. Laos on the 23rd.
It’s amazing what they do out here, we are going to be meeting the younger children over next few days, inc. the team who came to London 2 years ago. Philippe is doing an unbelievable job here, considering their "union" is a room in a cellar with a load of old shirts and a few cones etc. Having talked with Philippe we have come up with a range of ideas which would benefit both Touraid link with rugby and Cambodia and also help the kids out here.
Hope to hear from you soon,
Steph |
